Week in The Life 5 : Our TLSContact UKVCAS Experience

August 9 was a milestone day for our family, TLSContact UKVCAS service appointment for our two little girls’ naturalisation application. ❤️

We arrived early at the site (maaga talaga kami when it’s something important), thinking we could breeze in. But of course… reality check, waiting time. We sat for over 30 minutes, keeping the kids entertained while watching the screen flash numbers. They were calling people by the last 4 digits of their UAN, and I swear, every time a number popped up, my heart skipped a beat… until finally, it was us.

We walked up to the counter, a mix of excitement and please-let-everything-go-smoothly running through my head. The clerk asked for the appointment letter, the kids’ passports, and our passports (since we’re the accompanying adults). I was assigned to our youngest, and my wife to our eldest, apparently, one adult per child is the rule, so we just split the duties.

They scanned our passports, focusing on the pages with stamps and visas, then came the photo session. Before snapping their pictures, we (as the parents) had to state their full name and birthday into the camera, which was recorded for verification. It was super quick for our youngest, one click and done. But for ate? Medyo matagal… she got distracted by the stick Kuya was holding to point where she should look. Ang hirap magpokus pag may interesting stick na nakaharap sayo! 😂

Since they’re still minors, no fingerprints were taken (less drama, thank God 🙌). And just like that, the process was over. Honestly, it took longer to wait in the lobby than to complete the actual appointment.

Now, it’s the waiting game for the results. We’re really hoping for good news and no hiccups. This is one of those big moments for us, another step in our UK journey as a family.

We did everything DIY, no agent, no solicitor. Just a lot of research, reading, and coffee-fueled form filling. If you’re curious about how we managed it all, I shared the full step-by-step in my previous blog.

Here’s to hoping the next update will be a celebration post! 🤞
